Khan has faced numerous cases since being removed from power, and security forces have attempted to detain him on several occasions at his Lahore residence, but were prevented by his supporters.

Last November, Khan survived a gun attack on his convoy during a protest march. On Monday, the military warned Khan against making “baseless allegations” after he accused a senior officer of plotting to kill him once again.
